Farm Unit

Week one was a success!! I was soo happy and my son LOVED his little school. He begged for it everyday and it has become a great bargaining chip :)

Our little school was short and only lasted about 20 min- 30 min a day but I think that was perfect for his attention span.

Our daily schedule went something like this:

Calender Time- using "7 Days in a Week" song
The Alphabet Song
Review (or intro) of the letter of the week, what it looks like, it's sounds, and what word starts with it.
Then we had an activity or craft that helped us incorporate some letters, numbers, color, or science into the theme.

And that was it!! Super simple but very fun and exciting for both of us :)

Week One we focused on the letter F and the Farm. My son LOVES farm animals- always has and so I thought this would be a good start for us.

Day 1: We introduced the letter F.
Talked about animals that are found on the farm and activities that farmers do.
Our color was red so we made some red jello in baby food jars- most brilliant idea!!!

and that was Day 1!

Day 2:
Reviewed the letter F and again talked about the animals found on a farm.
We did some sequencing using

Got it for free for being a Facebook fan- make sure you become a fan so you can get them for free when they first come out too!!!

Then we read the Three Little Pigs

The Three Little Javelinas
The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig

again another favorite of my son is the Three Little Pigs story so we read up on some different versions of his favorite tale.

Day 3: We went to the Library for to see some HORSES!! It was the finale of the summer reading program and we weren't about to miss it!

The horses' name was Cinnabar- my little guys STILL talks about him!
Day 4: He finally remember what the Letter F was and what sound it made!! My first day of success!!! I was so thrilled!!!

We made animal puppets

and sang "On Grandpa's Farm".

We also found the letter F in the barn full of letters-

I was really surprised how fast he caught on!!
I must say it was a really fun day!
